The James River Lady Knights pulled out a big Pioneer District win in overtime Thursday night, as they defeated the Chargers of Bath County, 2-1.
Heather Reynolds found the back of the net with 2:14 left in the first five minute overtime period putting James River up 2-1, a lead they held for the win. The game was close for the whole 80 minutes of regulation play and the 10 minutes of overtime.
The Knights scored first wtih a goal from Haley Baker with 14:50 left in the first half. James River was able to hold that lead until just two minutes into the second half when Bath County's Carrington Pasco scored with 37:55 left in the second half.
The game remained tied at the end of regulation but the Knights needed only one overtime to seal the win.
Bath County had a game total of seven shots while James River had 15.
Knights' goalie Yana Conrad recorded five saves.
