James River won the championship game of its own invitational, as the Knights outlasted Glenvar 41-37 in non-district girls basketball action Friday night in Buchanan.

The Knights (2-0), who held a 31-20 lead going into the final quarter, managed to hold in the fourth quarter, despite being outscored 17-10, to earn the victory.

Jessi Strom led Glenvar (2-1) with 14 points.

Ashley King led James River with a game-high 18 points and Skye Jordan added 14 points.
