In a miss-match from the start, James River claimed a lopsided 69-36 non-district girls basketball win over Alleghany Monday night in Low Moor.

The Knights (3-0) rode out to an 18-3 lead after the opening quarter and by the time the half rolled around, they led 34-18. The Mountaineers (0-1) continued to struggle in the second half, falling by 33 points.

Skye Jordan led James River with a game-high 22 points. Ashley King tossed in 19 points and Morgan Hufford added 10 points.
