In a battle to the end, James River pulled out a 67-64 overtime win against Staunton River in non-district girls basketball action Monday night in Moneta.
The Golden Eagles (2-3), who led 34-29 at the half, saw the Knights (5-1) fight their way back in the second half to tie the game at 56-56. In the overtime period, James River outscored Staunton River 11-8 to escape with the 67-64 victory.
Ashley King led James River with a game-high 26 points. Morgan Hufford tossed in 13 points and Skye Jordan added 10 points.
Shaniesha Robinson paced Staunton River with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jodi Salyer chipped in with 17 points and Brie Holdren finished with 12 points.
