James River jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in downing Alleghany 53-29 in non-district girls' basketball action Tuesday night in Buchanan.
The Knights (7-1) rode out to an 11-4 lead after the opening quarter and increased their advantage to 29-19 at the break. They continued to control the tempo in the second half in pulling away for the 24-point win.
Kelsey Brom and Analea Deeds paced Alleghany (2-4) with eight points apiece.
Reanna Hamm led James River with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Ashley King added a game-high 16 points and seven assists.
