Covington rallied from a two-game deficit, as they knocked off visisting Parry McCluer 18-25, 23-25, 25-13, 25-19 and 15-12 in the opening round of the Pioneer District volleyball tournament Wednesday night.

Covington (9-8) now meets host James River (18-2) in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Leteashia Clarke led the Cougars with 11 kills and six blocks. Samone Moore had 11 kills and Daylin Tyree added 27 assists.
