In Pioneer District volleyball action, James River claimed a 25-18, 21-25, 25-9 and 25-20 win over Parry McCluer Monday night in Buchanan.

Maribeth Kern led the Knights (11-1, 2-0) with 13 kills, three aces and a block. Ashley Cummings tallied 28 assists, seven aces and two blocks, while Conner Sprinkle added 10 kills.

Chelsea Slagle led the Blues (4-8, 2-1) with 12 kills, while Kirsten Givens finished with 10 kills and 10 digs.
