Mountaineers Stop Blues

parry-mccluer-fightingbluesThis one was basically over with after the first quarter, as Alleghany cruised to a 45-36 non-district girls' basketball win over Parry McCluer Tuesday night in Low Moor.


The Mountaineers (3-6) staked out to a 24-7 after the first quarter and increased their advantage to 32-16 at the half. Alleghany extended its lead to 38-19 after three quarters. The Fighting Blues (0-8) outscored their hosts 17-7 in the fofurth quarter, as they made the final score more respectable.

Katy Patterson led Parry McCluer with 10 points.

Paige Irvine paced Alleghany with a game-high 11 points and Analea Deeds grabbed 14 rebounds.
