Parry McCluer took control of this one in the opening quarter and never looked back, as the Fighting Blues ran away with a 51-38 non-district boys basketball win over Eastern Montgomery Tuesday evening in Buena Vista to give head coach Nelson Fox his 500th career-victory.
The Fighting Blues jumped out to 20-11 lead after the opening quarter and increased their advantage to 30-23 at the break. Parry McCluer methodically pulled away in the second half to claim the 13-point victory in front of the home crowd.
James Fields led East Mont (3-8) with a game-high 17 points, including five 3-pointers. J.T. Shrader contributed 15 points, including four 3-pointers.
Todd Turner led Parry McCluer (5-2) with 12 points. Zack Stinnett and Conrad Patterson contributed 11 apiece.
