Parry McCluer jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, as the Fightings Blue came away with a 48-32 Pioneer District boys' basketball win over Covington Thursday night in Buena Vista.

The Fighting Blues (17-4, 9-1) took a 26-15 halftime lead and continued to pull away in the second half to claim the 16-point victory at home.

Troy Helton paced Covington (11-11, 6-4) with nine points.

Zack Stinnett led Parry McCluer with a game-high15 points. Conrad Patterson and Todd Turner tossed in 11 points apiece.
