Hidden Valley put a damper on Blacksburg's Homecoming festivities, as the Titans held on for a hard-fought 13-10 River Ridge District football win over the host Bruins Friday night.
The Bruins (2-4, 0-1 RRD) took a 3-0 lead in the opening quarter on a 37-yard field goal by Carson Wise.
A 22-yard run by Walker Brand in the second quarter and the missed PAT gave the Titans (3-3, 1-0 RRD) a 6-3 lead.
In the third quarter, Brand scored from 10-yards out and the PAT upped Hidden Valley's advantage to 13-3.
A 4-yard scamper by Blacksburg's Morgan McCoy in the final quarter and Wise's PAT made the final 13-10, Titans.
Hidden Valley posted 226 yards of total offense. Walker Brand rushed for 70 yards on 17 carries.
Blacksburg finished with 263 yards of total offense. Austin Hanks led the way with 92 yards on 11 carries.
