Blacksburg saw its three-point halftime lead disappear in the second half, as Liberty scored 33 unanswered points to beat the Bruins 47-17 Friday night in Blacksburg.
The Bruins (1-1) took a 7-0 lead on a 28-yard run by Terrence Travis. The Minutemen (2-0) tied the game on a 1-yard run by Anthony Reynolds.
Liberty would then take a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter on a 40-yard run by Thomas Clark. A 54-yard gallop by Travis, along with a 33-yard field goal by Carson Wise would give Blacksburg a 17-14 halftime advamtage.
In the second half, the Minutemen would use a 16-yard run by Kody Outhong, a 20-yard fumble return by Reynolds, a 1-yard plunge by Reynolds, a 32-yard scamper by Clark and 6-yard jolt by Martin to leave town with the 47-17 victory.
