Cave Spring picked up its first win of the season, as the Knights earned a 40-36 River Ridge District girls' basketball win over visiting Blacksburg Tuesday night.

The Knights (1-19, 1-7 RRD), who led 11-4 after the first quarter, extended their advantage to 18-14 at the half. The Bruins (2-17, 1-7 RRD) stayed within striking distance in the second half, but could never recover from the early deficit.

Alayna Radford led Blacksburg with a game-high 11 points.

Hailey Sitze led Cave Spring with nine points and six rebounds.
