Christiansburg opened up its volleyball season last Thursday night by defeating host Floyd County, 3 games to 1.

Maggie Eddleton led the Blue Demons with 13 kills. Shelby Walters had five blocks and Brooke Martin served up 19 total points.

"I was happy with our effort for the first game of the season, but we need to focus on eliminating unnecessary passing errors, and becoming more consistent servers," said Christiansburg head coach Cassidy Jones. "Our hitting game was great, however, and I hope to see us becoming even more confident and aggressive on the front row."
