Day one of the Region IV wrestling tournament is in the books and as expected, Christiansburg is leading the pack, ahead of second-place Grundy. Action will continue today starting at 10 a.m. at Christiansburg High School.
After Friday's action, Christiansburg is in first place with 125 1/2 points, followed by Grundy in second with 111 1/2. Hidden Valley (79) is in third place, followed by Cave Spring (59 1/2), Blacksburg (54), Salem (54), Magna Vista (47), Marion (46), Martinsville (39), Tazewell (35), Pulaski County (34), Richlands (32), Tunstall (32), Carroll County (30 1/2), Patrick County (30), Abingdon (28 1/2), Graham (18 1/2) and Bassett (12).
Today's action starts at 10 a.m. with the championship semi-finals and the consolation quarter-finals. At 12:30 p.m. the consolation semifinals will be held. The third/fourth and fifth/sixth place matches will start at 2 p.m. The day will conclude with the championship round starting at 4 p.m.
