Christiansburg took control in the second half, as they advanced to the semifinals of the Region IV, Division 4 boys tournament with a 65-48 win over home-standing Magna Vista Tuesday night in Ridgeway.

Christiansburg (12-9) will play Salem tonight in a 6 p.m. semifinal contest at Abingdon High School.

The Blue Demons took a 19-15 lead after the opening quarter. The Warriors (6-10) would battle back in the second quarter to cut their deficit to three, 30-27, at the half. Christiansburg would turn up the pressure in the third quarter, as they outscored Magna Vista, 17-9, to take a 47-36 advantage into the final quarter. The Blue Demons would continue to control the tempo throughout the final quarter, as they pulled away for the 65-48 road win and advance to tonight's semifinal rematch with fellow River Ridge District foe, Salem.

Chris Dobbins led Christiansburg with a game-high 18 points. Zach Davis contributed 12 points and Patrick Cummings scored 10 points.

Gervelle Kidd and Anthony Hairston led Magna Vista with 13 points apiece.
