The Christiansburg girls varsity soccer team opened its season Monday night with a 12-0 non-district victory over visiting Giles.

Seven players scored for the Lady Blue Demons (1-0). Freshman Hannah Duff lead all scorers with four goals, followed by Senior Mallory Foster and Sophomore Kelsey Spencer with two goals apiece. Rounding out the scoring were Junior Hollie Herndon with one goal and two assists, Junior Sigrid Ebbesen with one goal and two assists, Senior Emily Davis with one goal, and Sophomore Hailey Bonds with her first goal as a varsity player.

Christiansburg will travel to Bassett on Wednesday for its next JV and Varsity match.
