In a battle of county-rivals, Christiansburg pulled away in the second half, to claim a 46-35 River Ridge District win over host Blacksburg Friday night.

The Blue Demons, clinging to a 20-17 halftime lead, outscored the Bruins 15-11 in the third quarter and 11-7 in the fourth quarter to pull away with the 11-point win.

Uwem Etuk led Blacksburg with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Nikki Burks led Christiansburg with 13 points and Paige Wright added 11 points.
