In a battle of county rivals, Christiansburg spoiled Blacksburg's Senior Night, as the Blue Demons cruised to an 87-52 River Ridge District boys' basketball win Tuesday night.
The Blue Demons jumped out to a 21-12 lead after the opening quarter. Both teams scored 16 points apiece in the second quarter, however, the Blue Demons headed into the locker room with a 37-28 advantage. Christiansburg continued to have its way in the second half, outscoring the Bruins 50-24, en route to the 35-point road win.
Brenden Motley led Christiansburg with a game-high 21 points. Zach Davis tossed in 16 points and Kam Johnson finished with 10 points.
Michael Ayers paced Blacksburg with 10 points.
