In a game that wasn't decided until the final seconds, Hidden Valley managed to slip past Christiansburg, 56-54, In a River Ridge District boys basketball battle Friday night in Christiansburg.
With the game knotted at 54-54, Hidden Valley's Kevin Draudt would connect on a pair of free throws with just 2.6 seconds remaining to give the Titans a 56-54 lead. A three-point desperation shot by the Blue Demons would fall short as time expired would allow Hidden Valley to escape town with the victory.
The Titans (7-9, 2-4 RRD) would take a slim 12-11 lead after the opening quarter and increased their advantage to 28-21 at the break. The Blue Demons (8-5, 2-4 RRD) would outscore the Titans 13-11 in the third quarter and 20-17 in the fourth quarter.
Riley Worrell paced Hidden Valley with a game-high 16 points. Carter Wright tossed in 15 points and Taylor Walker finished with 10 points.
Greg Lee led Christiansburg with 10 points.
