Garrett Steele scored the winning goal, as Hidden Valley claimed a hard-fought 2-1 River Ridge District boys soccer win over host Christiansburg Friday night.

The Titans (7-1, 1-1 RRD) took a 1-0 lead in the opening half when Will Gooding scored on a header from a corner kick.

The Blue Demons (4-4, 1-2 RRD) tied the match in the second half on a goal by Carl Leist, before Steele notched the winning goal for Hidden Valley.

Goalie Ben Poff recorded 15 saves for Christiansburg, while Eric Kessler recorded five saves for Hidden Valley.
