Hidden Valley Ends Losing Skid Against William Byrd

Hidden-Valley-LogoHidden Valley's 12-game losing streak has ended, as the Titans cruised to a 20-6 non-district football win over William Byrd Friday night in Roanoke.

The Titans (1-1) took a 7-0 lead in the opening quarter on a 1-yard plunge by Michael Simonic. A 4-yard pass from Simonic to Mason Dermott made it 14-0 at the half.

After a scoreless third quarter, a 3-yard run by Jimmy Howe in the fourth quarter gave Hidden Valley a 20-0 lead. William Byrd (0-2) avoided the shutout when Jake Barton scored from 4-yards out to make the final 20-6, Titans.

William Byrd, who had 177 yards of offense, was led by Simeon Horstmann's 76 yards on 21 carries.

Hidden Valley, who tallied 250 yards of offense, was led by Walker Brand's 165 yards on 26 carries.
