Hidden Valley used a strong fourth quarter to pull away from Bassett, 24-10, in the opening round of the Region IV, Division 4 football playoffs Friday night at Bogle Field in southwest Roanoke County.
Hidden Valley (7-4) heads south next week, as they travel to No. 1 Christiansburg (9-1) next week.
The Titans took a 7-0 first quarter lead on a 2-yard pass frrom Michael Simonic to Jake Kite.
The Bengals (3-8) cut their defcit to four, 7-3, in the second quarter on a 30-yard field goal by Zach Atwood.
In the third quarter, a 5-yard scamper by Walker Brand allowed Hidden Valley to pull out to a 14-3 lead. Bassett would answer with a 44-yard run by Daniel Martin to make it 14-10 heading into the final quarter.
The Titans used a 24-yard field goal by Landon Dermott and 1-yard run by Billy Howe in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 24-10 victory.
Bassett posted 243 yards of total offense.
Hidden Valley, who racked up 296 yards of offense, was led by Walker Brand's 168 yards on 29 carries.
