Hidden Valley turned up the pressure in the second half, as the Titans rolled to an easy 70-35 non-district girls' basketball win over Northside in the second day of the Knights Winter Classic being played at Cave Spring High School Thursday afternoon.
The Titans (6-4) staked out to a 14-9 first quarter lead. The Vikings (3-5) came back in the second quarter to cut their deficit to two, 23-21, at the half. Hidden Valley found its shooting touch in the second half, as they outscored Northside 47-14 to claim the lopsided 35-point win.
Melanie Mirzayan paced Northside with 14 points.
Alena Hamerick led Hidden Valley with a game-high 20 points and six assists. Tyler Evans contributed 18 points and seven rebounds, while Ashleigh Torres and Kelsey Crotty finished with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
