In a game that wasn't decided until the final seconds, Alleghany claimed a hard-fought 58-55 non-district boys' basketball win over Hidden Valley in the second day of the K-Guard Holiday Classic at the Salem Civic Center Thursday afternoon.
With the game tied at 15-15 after the opening quarter, the Mountaineers (6-2) would take a slim 27-23 halftime lead. The Titans (4-4) came back in the third quarter with a 20-10 run to take a 43-37 lead into the crucial fourth quarter. Trailing 55-54 with 17 ticks remaining, Alleghany's Rashad Chambers nailed a putback to give the Mountaineers a 56-55 lead. Seth Bradley then nailed a pair of free throws with .06 on the clock to give Alleghany the three-point win.
Seth Bradley led Alleghany with 19 points and 15 rebounds. Rashad Chambers scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Kendall Kessinger added 12 points.
Dylan Hodson led Hidden Valley with a game-high 22 points and Malik Williams finished with 12 points.
