Hidden Valley turned up the heat in the second half, as the Titans pulled away for a 58-31 River Ridge District girls' basketball game Tuesday night in Roanoke.
The Titans (8-4, 1-0 RRD) jumped out to a 13-7 lead. The Bruins (1-10, 0-1 RRD) came back in the second quarter to cut their deficit three, 25-22, at the break. Hidden Valley took control of this one in the third quarter, outscoring Blacksburg 19-3 to take a 44-25 lead into the fourth quarter. The Titans continued to have the upper-hand in the final quarter, as they claimed the 58-31 victory.
Uwen Etuk paced Blacksburg with eight points.
Tyler Evans led Hidden Valley with a game-high 21 points. Alena Hamerick tossed in 13 points and Gracie Whiteside finished with 10 points.
