Hidden Valley held Blacksburg to just three points in the third quarter, as the Titans ran away with a 57-35 River Ridge District boys’ basketball win over host Blacksburg Tuesday night.
The Titans (5-5, 1-0 RRD) staked out to a 13-8 advantage after the opening quarter and increased their lead to 22-14 at the break. Any hopes of a Bruins (5-6, 01- RRD) comeback in the third quarter was put to rest early, as Hidden Valley outscored its hosts 22-3 in the third quarter to take a 44-17 lead into the final quarter. The Bruins mounted a small comeback in the final quarter. However, it was too little-too late, as the Titans claimed the 57-35 victory.
Daniel Rowe led Hidden Valley with a game-high 20 points, while Malik Williams scored 13 points.
Destiny Etuk paced Blacksburg with eight points.
