George Wythe placed four players in double-digits, as they rallied from a three-point deficit to beat Pulaski County 67-64 in non-district boys basketball action Wednesday night in Dublin.
The Cougars (1-4) and the Maroons (4-0) would end the opening quarter all knotted up at 13-13. Pulaski County would outscore George Wythe 16-15 in the second quarter to take a slim 29-28 lead at the half. The Cougars would outscore the Maroons 21-19 in the third stanza to head into the fourth quarter with a 50-47 lead. Pulaski County was unable to maintain its lead in the final quarter, as George Wythe would outscore their hosts, 20-14, to pull away for the 67-64 victory.
Kenneth Waugh led George Wythe with 22 points, including three 3-pointers.Tyler Akers chipped in with 12 points and Tristan Boysaw tossed in 11 points, while Drew Lester finished with 10 points.
C.J. Burgess led Pulaski County with a game-high 24 tallies, including a trio of 3-pointers and Ondre Powell added 12 points.
