Raiven Patterson nailed the game-winning shot at the buzzer, as the Cougars won their own tournament Wednesday night, with a 39-38 win against Group AAA Fairfax in Dublin.
Trailing 38-37, Patterson nailed the short jumper to give Pulaski County (4-7) the thrilling win, as the horn sounded.
The Cougars raced out to a 15-11 lead after the opening quarter and increased their advantage to 24-22 at the half. Pulaski County continued to control the tempo in the third quarter, as they headed into the final quarter leading 33-30. Fairfax would battle back and take the lead before Patterson's shot would give her team a 39-38 victory and the 2009 Cougar Clash title.
Raiven Patterson led Pulaski County with 14 points. In addition, Daisy Ball and Casey Holcomb were named to the Cougar Clash All-Tournament team.
