Hidden Valley picked up its first district win of the season, as they used a strong second quarter to defeat Pulaski County, 57-53, in River Ridge District boys basketball action Saturday night in Dublin.
Both the Titans (5-6, 1-1 RRD) and Cougars (3-8, 0-3 RRD) would play on even terms in the opening quarter, as they headed into the second quarter tied at 15-15. Hidden Valley would start to pull away in the second quarter, as they outscored their hosts, 21-6, to take a 36-21 halftime lead.
Once again, both teams would play on even terms in the third quarter, as they both scored 12 points. However, the Titans would head into the pivotal fourth quarter with a 48-33 lead. Hidden Valley would up its advantage to 16 points in the final quarter. However, the pesky Cougars never gave up, as they would pull to within two late in the game. However, the Titans would maintain its lead late, as they hung for the 57-53 victory.
Kevin Draudt led Hidden Valley with a game-high 18 points and Taylor Walker tossed in 14 points.
C.J. Burgis led Pulaski County with 13 points.
