Pulaski County took control in the third quarter, as the Cougars turned a two-point halftime deficit into a 61-51 River Ridge District girls' basketball win over Cave Spring Friday night in Roanoke.
Trailing 27-25 at the break, the Cougars (7-6, 2-0 RRD) outscored the Knights (0-13, 0-2 RRD) 25-7 to pull out to a 50-34 lead after three quarters of action. Cave Spring mounted a small rally in the fourth quarter, outscoring Pulaski 17-11, to cut the final margin to 61-51, Cougars.
Sydney Anderson led Pulaski County with a game-high 28 points and Hannah Chaffin scored 17 points.
Hailey Sitze paced Cave Spring with 13 points and Zanebia Brown-Saunders added 10 points
