Christiansburg saw its lead evaporate in the second half, as visiting Pulaski County came back to earn a 69-57 River Ridge District girls' basketball win Tuesday night.
The Blue Demons (12-6, 2-4 RRD) took a 22-19 lead after the opening quarter and extended their advantage to 40-27 at the half. The Cougars (10-8, 4-2 RRD) started clawing their way back in the third quarter, outscoring their hosts 22-11 to pull within two, 51-49, going into the pivotal fourth quarter. Pulaski County went on a 20-6 run in the final quarter to claim the 12-point road win.
Sydney Anderson led Pulaski County with a game-high 36 points and Jordan Chrisley finished with 14 points.
Shannon Stuart led Christiansburg with 14 points. Paige Wright tossed in 13 points and Nikki Burks added 12 points.
