Pulaski County took the early lead in this one, as the Cougars earned a 60-50 River Ridge District boys' basketball win over Blacksburg Friday night in Dublin.
The Cougars (8-12, 3-6 RRD) ran out to a 19-10 lead after the opening eight minutes. The Bruins (8-13, 3-6 RRD) battled back in the second quarter to pull to within four, 27-23, at the break. Pulaski County would keep Blacksburg at bay in the second half, as they outscored Blacksburg 17-13 in the third quarter and 16-14 in the fourth quarter to end its six-game losing streak with the 10-point win.
Destiny Etuk led Blacksburg with 16 points, including five 3-pointers. Kaleb Bohrnstedt added 12 points.
Matt Greene led Pulaski County with a game-high 18 points. Tyler Frazier scored 11 points and Andrew Samuelson finished with 10 points.
