Salem's Johhny Hughes and Shelley Blumenthal of Blacksburg were named the Player and Coach of the Year, respectively, on the 2010 All-River Ridge District Boys Soccer Team.

Dani Duff of Cave Spring was named Player of the Year, while Blacksburg's Leah Potts and Salem's Ron Reynolds were named Pitcher and Coach of the Year, respectively, on the 2010 All-River Ridge District Softball Team.

Seth Martin of Christiansburg and Hidden Valley's Jason Taylor were named the Player and Coach of the Year, respectively, on the recently released All-River Ridge District Baseball Team.

Salem's Patrick O'Keefe and Hidden Valley's Ryan Teague were named the Player and Coach of the Year, on the recently released All-River Ridge District Boys Tennis Team.

Kristin Harter and Tommy George, both of Hidden Valley, were named the Player and Coach of the Year, on the recently released All-River Ridge District Girls Tennis Team.

The River Ridge District will start its district tournament today with a buffet of opening round contests from baseball, softball and boys and girls soccer.

Salem's Patrick O'Keefe and Hidden Valley's Kristen Harter came away the boy's and girls single's title, respectively, in the River Ridge District tennis tournament Wednesday afternoon in Roanoke. O'Keefe then teamed up with Will Drougas and Harter paired with Ceyda Durmaz to claim the doubles crown, as well.

Cave Spring's Josh Henderson was named Player of the Year, while Salem's Kevin Garst was selected Coach of the Year for the 2010 River Ridge All-District boys basketball team. Cave Spring had three players named to the first team, Salem placed two players, while Christiansburg and Blacksburg landed one each.
