It will be a River Ridge District showdown for the Region IV boys' singles and doubles title, as Blacksburg's Will Coffey and Cave Spring's David Dodson both won their semifinal matches on Wednesday at the Virginia Tech Tennis Pavilion. The Bruins doubles team will also meet Hidden Valley for the crown.
Coffey and Dodson will square meet at 2 p.m. on Friday for the title, with the winner advancing to next week's Group AA tournament at Virginia Tech.
Coffey cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jordan Hancock of Bassett, while Dodson defeated Gus Tolton of Abingdon 6-2, 6-0.
In the semifinals on Wednesday, Coffey and David Rouhoniemi defeated Tolton and Daniel Hawsey of Abingdon, while Hidden Valley's Zach Elton and Chandon Reddy stopped Hancock and Jason Burke of Bassett 6-0, 6-0.
Coffey and Rouhoniemi will square off against Elton and Reddy at 4 p.m. on Friday for the title, with the winner advancing to next week's Group AA tournament at Virginia Tech.
