Led by Jake Mondy's two-under-par 69, Blacksburg won its fourth-straight Region IV title by one-stroke over second-place finisher Hidden Valley, Monday afternoon at the Par 71 Roanoke Country Club.

The Bruins and Titans will advance to the Group AA State Championship to be played at the Blacksburg Country Club on Oct. 10-11.

Blacksburg, who have won the state title four times in the past five years, finished with a team score of 311, while Hidden Valley carded a 312. Bassett was a distant third with a team score of 325.

Mondy, who is heading to Auburn University, won his second Region IV individual title.

Mondy led the Bruins with a 69, followed by Mike Yourshaw 80, Ryan Mondy 81, Jack Prater 81, Sam Jones 87 and Tobin Weisman 99.

Hidden Valley was paced by Brad Elder's 76. Scott Helgeson shot a 78, followed by Alex Taylor 79, Taylor Walker 80, Carter Wright 83 and Sara Moir 88.

Also qualifying for the state tournament in individual play are Dillon Craig (Magna Vista, 77); Drew Lagan (Cave Spring, 77); Nick Brediger (Cave Spring, 78); Andrew Butts (Salem, 78); and Parker Davis (Salem, 79).

Davis qualified after birding the first hole of a three-way playoff against Bassett's Tyler Weeks and  Carroll County's Kris Goad.
