Christiansburg won nine individual championships, as the Blue Demons dominated the River Ridge District wrestling tournament Saturday at Pulaski County High School.

The Blue Demons finished with 310 1/2 points, followed by Cave Spring (154), Hidden Valley (148), Salem 98, Pulaski County (89) and Blacksburg (36).

The Region IV tournament will be held Friday and Saturday at Magna Vista.

Winning district titles for Christiansburg were Coy Ozias (106 pounds), J.R. Wert (120), Gabe Lumpp (126), Joey Dance (132), Dallas Smith (138), David Giantonio (152), Zach Epperly (160), Tyler Miles (170) and Brandon Taylor (220).

Ozias, Wert, Dance and Epperly all won by pins, while Wert, Dance, Epperly, Miles and Lumpp, were defending their titles.

Cave Spring, who finished second, filled only eight of the 14 weights filled. Seven of the eight reached the finals, with Coty Love winning the 145 pound class and Logan Turner won the 285 pound class.

Other individual winners included Hidden Valley's Tim Yang at 113 pounds,  Salem's Quan Lee at 195 pounds and Pulaski's Nipper at 220 pounds.

Christiansburg’s Epperly was named the tournament's most outstanding wrestler and Pulaski County's Dan Butler was named coach of the year.
