Salem jumped out to an early lead, as the Spartans blanked Christiansburg 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the River Ridge District boys' tennis tournament Monday night. The match was called at the half due to the weather.

Troy Hamner, Phil Sorensen, Jack Maxey and Connor Scro led the Spartans (10-5-1) with a goal each.

Salem meets No. 1 seed Blacksburg in the semifinals on Wednesday at Blacksburg.

The Blue Demons ended their season with a 0-17 mark.
