In another closely contested River Ridge District golf match, only seven strokes separated first-place from third place, as Salem won the fifth mini-tournament of the season Monday afternoon at the par-72 Blacksburg Country Club. Blacksburg finished second, followed by Cave Spring.
The Spartans finished with a team score of 300, followed by Blacksburg (303), Cave Spring (307), Christiansburg (330), Hidden Valley (337) and Pulaski County (348).
Jordan Alderman of Christiansburg took medalist honors with one-under-par 71.
