Sidney Clinevell recorded 12 kills in helping lead Salem to a 27-25, 25-19, 18-25 and 25-18 volleyball win over William Byrd Wednesday night in Vinton.

Carleigh Studtmann tallied nine kills, while Katie Helvey and Madeleine Dick had seven aces each for the Spartans (1-0).

Macie Holback led the Terriers (0-1) with four kills, five aces and six blocks.
