Salem needed a strong fourth quarter, as the Spartans hung on for a 46-44 non-district boy's basketball win over visiting Northside Friday night.
The Vikings (1-1), who led 38-34 after three quarters of play, were outscored, 12-6, by the Spartans (2-0) in the fourth quarter, as Salem came back to claim the two-point win.
Todd Crowder and Chance Hall led Northside with eight points apiece.
Alex Light led Salem with 12 points and Tyler Treski added 10 points.
