Salem used a strong second and third quarter to knock off Cave Spring, 53-22, in River Ridge District girls' basketball action Tuesday night in Salem.

Leading 9-4 after the opening quarter, the Spartans (7-3, 1-0 RRD) outscored the Knights (0-12, 0-1 RRD) 35-11 in the second and third quarters to head into the final quarter with a 44-15 lead. When the final quarter ended, Salem had claimed the 53-22 win.

Hailey Sitze paced Cave Spring with 12 points.

Tay Taylor led Hidden Valley with a game-high 15 points.
