Salem raced out to an early lead and never looked back as the Spartans ran away with a 58-38 River Ridge District girls' basketball win over visiting Christiansburg Tuesday night.
The Spartans, who led 33-19 at the half, continued to have the upper-hand in the second quarter, as they claimed the 20-point win in from of the Salem faithful.
Paige Wright paced Christiansburg with 10 points.
Tay Taylor led Salem with a game-high 24 points and Carlye Garst scored 10 points.
