Carroll County used a strong third quarter to turn a seven-point halftime deficit into a 57-52 non-district girls basketball win over Pulaski County Monday night in Hillsville.
The Cougars (0-5) raced out to a 14-10 lead after one and increased their advantage to 30-23 at the half. The Cavaliers (5-0) came out in the third quarter looking like a different team, as they outscored Pulaski County 20-10, to take a 43-40 lead into the fourth quarter. Carroll County would continue to hold the upper-hand throughtout the final quarter, as they claimed the 57-52 victory.
Daisy Ball led Pulaski County with 17 points. Shaniqua Banks tossed in 16 points and Kasey Holcomb finished with 11 points.
Kayla Goins recorded a double-double, as she scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for Carroll County. Audrey Dickens tossed in 10 points.
