Floyd County came out strong in the second half, as the Buffaloes rallied for a 58-47 non-district girl's basketball win over previously unbeaten Carroll County Friday night in Hillsville.
The Cavaliers (6-1) rode out to 30-25 halftime advantage. The Buffaloes (7-1) slowly came back in the third quarter to take a 39-36 lead into the pivotal fourth quarter. Floyd County outscored its hosts 19-11 in the final quarter to pull away for the nine-point win.
Krista Cox led Floyd County with a game-high 20 points, including six 3-pointers. Maria Kuchenbuch chipped in with 13 points.
Lindsay Martin paced Carroll County with 13 points and Cheyenne Dalton contributed 12 points.
