Galax used a strong third quarter to pull out a 33-30 non-district girls' basketball win over Carroll County Wednesday night in Hillsville.

With the score knotted at 16-all at the half, the Maroon Tide went on an 11-3 run in the third quarter to take a 27-19 lead into the povotal fouth quarter. The Cavs mounted a small comeback in the fourth quarter, however, it wasn't enough, as Galax claimed the three-point road win.

Taylor Martin led Carroll County with a game-high 14 points.

Allison White and Bailey Shumate led Galax with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
