Carroll County jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, as the Cavaliers rode past Fort Chiswell 69-53 in non-district boys' basketball action to take third place in the First Bank of Virginia Christmas Tournament Thursday in Max Meadows.
The Cavaliers (6-1) raced out to a 35-21 lead at the half. They continued to dominate in the second half, as they ran away with the 16-point win and the third place trophy.
Connor Lundy paced Carroll County with a game-high16 points. Ryan Gravley tossed in 15 points and Chris Smoot added 13 points.
Daniel Hamm led Fort Chiswell (8-3) with 12 points.
