It took overtime to decide this one, as Carroll County escaped with a 46-44 win over Bassett in the semifinals of the Region IV, Div. 4 girls' basketball tournament Thursday night in Hillsville.
Carroll County (21-4) will entertain Salem at 7 p.m. tonight in the championhip game.
The Cavs, who led 22-17 at the break, saw the Bengals (15-8) to rally back to take a 44-41 lead with 10 seconds remaining in the final quarter. Carroll County's Lindsay Martin drained a three-pointer with six ticks left to tie the game at 44-44 at the end of the fourth quarter. Shyann Dalton scored the only two points in OT to give the Cavaliers a nail-biting 46-44 win.
Emily Warrick paced Bassett with 10 points.
Lindsay Martin led Carroll County with a game-high 21 points. Shyann Dalton recorded 15 rebounds.
