The Warriors spotted the Eagles an early lead, before running away with a 44-28 win in the opening round of the Region C, Division 2 girls tournament Tuesday night in Chilhowie.

Chilhowie (18-7) now faces Radford in the semifinals Thursday night at Northwood High School. Game time is slated for 7:45 p.m.

Auburn (12-11) would take a 12-8 lead after the first quarter. Chilhowie would outscore the Eagles 12-4 in the second quarter to regain the lead, 20-16, at the break. The Warriors would continue to pull way in the third quarter, as they increased their advantage to 33-22. Chilhowie continued to hold the upper-hand in the fourth quarter, as they pulled away for the 44-28 victory and a semifinal date with Radford.

Holly Saul led Auburn with 13 points.

Crystal Patton led Chilhowie with a game-high 25 points.
