Auburn used a big fourth quarter to claim a hard-fought 59-48 Three Rivers District boys' basketball win over Eastern Montgomery Friday night in Riner.
With the scored tied at 11-all after the opening quarter, the Mustangs (5-15, 1-7 TRD) pulled out to a 30-26 halftime lead. It was back-and-forth in the third quarter, as East Mont held a narrow 40-37 lead heading into the crucial fourth quarter. The Eagles (7-11, 2-5 TRD) outscored East Mont 22-8 in the final quarter to rally back and please the home crowd with the 11-point victory.
J.T. Shrader led East Mont with 13 points and James Fields added 11 points.
Jake Shelburne's led Auburn with a game-high 14 points , Tanner Keen scored nine points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
